Ask any golf forum which launch monitor to buy between $1,000 and $2,500 and three names come back before anyone asks about your room: the FlightScope Mevo+, the SkyTrak+, and the Bushnell Launch Pro. In 2026 this question has a twist the spec sheets don't show: two of the three are discontinued and on closeout, and the stickers — $1,099, $1,995, $2,499.99 — tell you almost nothing about what each one costs to own. So we ran our catalog numbers out five years. One result surprised even us.
The short answer: measure your room first. Under 13 feet of depth, the Mevo+ is physically out and this becomes a two-camera race. If the depth is there and you want the cheapest real road into GSPro, the Mevo+ closeout is the best deal on this page. And if measured club data and a product with a future are the point, it's the Launch Pro — which looks like the expensive option right up until you notice the SkyTrak+ costs the same to own.
The five-year math
Sticker price is the number you pay once. Subscriptions are the number you pay forever. Here's what five years of ownership looks like, using each maker's published plans — Core ($299.99/yr) for course play on SkyTrak, Silver ($199/yr) as the minimum sim tier on the Launch Pro, and nothing at all on the Mevo+, which has never charged a subscription:
Read the middle two rows again. The SkyTrak+ and the Launch Pro are about $500 apart at checkout — and four cents apart over five years. The clearance discount on the SkyTrak+ is, almost to the penny, a prepayment of the subscription gap. Whatever you decide between those two, the deciding factor should not be the sticker, because there effectively isn't one.
The Mevo+ rows are the other story. It's the only unit here that never asks for another dollar — E6 Connect with 12 courses is owned outright, and the Pro Package that unlocks club path and face angle is a one-time add-on, not a plan. Even the GSPro path, all-in, is a third of the Launch Pro's.
The room decides before you do
The Mevo+ is Doppler radar. It sits behind the ball and needs to watch the flight: FlightScope markets about 17 feet of total depth, its own FAQ recommends around 13 feet of ball flight — call it 21 feet before the data is fully trustworthy — and owners in shorter rooms report driver spin reading 500–600 rpm high. Garages and open basements love it. Spare bedrooms return it.
The SkyTrak+ and Launch Pro are cameras. They sit beside the ball, photograph the first few feet, and are done — about 12 feet of depth is enough, which is exactly why this bracket exists. The trade: beside-the-ball units want honest width (10 feet, more if lefties and righties share the bay) and both get moved by hand when the other-handed golfer steps up. Three different software worlds
This is the least visible difference and the one you'll live with daily.
SkyTrak+ lives inside SkyTrak's own app, full stop. Official third-party support (E6, TGC 2019, ProTee) ended for new buyers in 2025, and GSPro was never official. The app is polished and course play works well — but it starts at the Core plan, and there is no road out. If Tuesday-night GSPro leagues are in your future, this unit cannot attend.
Launch Pro is a Foresight GC3 in a Bushnell shell — same triscopic three-camera engine, subsidized by subscription. Free tier is ball data only, no sim. Silver ($199/yr) buys club data and Bushnell's FSX world with 5 courses. GSPro and E6 require Gold ($499/yr), plus GSPro's own $250 — about $749 a year for league play, and a gaming PC, because there's no standalone mode. Mevo+ is the open door: 12 E6 courses owned forever, official GSPro support at GSPro's normal $250/yr, nothing else required. The catch is physics, not software — indoor spin wants metallic stickers or Titleist RCT balls, and the radar is sensitive to ceiling fans and fluorescent light.

The Mevo+ (2024 Edition) is marked "final quantities" at $1,099, less than half its original $2,299 — FlightScope has pledged multi-year support, and its replacement, the Mevo Gen2, sells for $1,299 with 8 owned E6 courses to the Mevo+'s 12. The SkyTrak+ is on clearance at $1,995 while retailer stock lasts, and carries the bracket's shortest runway: a 6-month/25,000-shot warranty on a discontinued product line — the full trade-off is spelled out in our SkyTrak+ review. The Launch Pro is the only unit here still in production — with its own fine print: US-only, a 45-day online check-in requirement, and a 20% restocking fee if you change your mind.
None of that is a reason to avoid these deals. It's the reason the deals exist. Buy discontinued with your eyes open: the hardware didn't get worse the day the press release went out, but the warranty clock and the stock counters are real.
