Golf Simulator Room Requirements, Every Unit We Track
The two-sentence answer: 9 feet of ceiling runs most floor units, and 10 feet is comfortable for every driver swing. Depth is the spec that actually disqualifies setups — camera units that sit beside the ball work in 12 feet, while radar units that sit behind it need 15 to 17.
Minimum ceiling, depth, and width below are manufacturer specs verified against retailer documentation, for every launch monitor, package, enclosure, and impact screen in our catalog — including clearance and discontinued units, labeled as such. Updated whenever the catalog changes. New to the measurements? Start with the room requirements guide.

Launch monitors
Where the unit sits decides the depth math: beside-the-ball cameras need the least room, behind-the-ball radar needs the most, and overhead units trade floor space for ceiling height and install honesty.

Bundle numbers are driven by the enclosure in the box — the launch monitor inside may need more depth than the enclosure's own minimum, so check its row above too.

Enclosures & impact screens
Enclosure minimums are assembled-frame numbers. Leave at least a foot of buffer behind any impact screen — screens need standoff from the wall, and golf balls do not negotiate.

About this data
Sourced from manufacturer specifications and verified against retailer documentation; discrepancies are resolved toward the more conservative number, because nobody has ever returned a simulator for having too much room. Discontinued and clearance units stay in the table — they're still on shelves and in classifieds, and their room math doesn't stop applying when the press release goes out.
