The story
I'm Sam — a software developer and a golfer. When I started shopping for a home simulator, I found the same problem everywhere: nearly every "buying guide" was written by a store that sells the products it recommends. The specs were scattered across forums, the room-size requirements were buried in footnotes, and the price of getting it wrong started at two thousand dollars and went up fast.
So I did what developers do: collected the data, built the comparison I wished existed, and turned it into this site. Golf Sim Report is me building that resource in public — every spec sheet, every comparison, and eventually a recommendation engine that does the matching math for you.
The independence promise
We don't sell simulators. We hold no inventory, take no placement fees, and answer to no manufacturer. How we evaluate
Specs, verified. We compile manufacturer specifications for every launch monitor and simulator package we cover, cross-check them against owner reports and independent testing, and flag the numbers that don't survive contact with reality.
Room-fit math. A simulator that needs 12 feet of depth is a brick in a 10-foot room. Ceiling height, room depth, offset requirements, and left/right handedness constraints are first-class criteria in everything we recommend — not afterthoughts.
Software ecosystems. The launch monitor is half the purchase. What it connects to — GSPro, E6 Connect, FSX, The Golf Club — determines what playing it actually feels like, and what the subscription really costs per year.
Honest about what we haven't touched. Hands-on testing grows over time. Where a verdict is based on spec analysis and aggregated owner experience rather than our own hitting bay, we say so. No fake authority — the data is good, and it gets better.
